Apple might finally be giving Siri the glow-up it desperately needed...and apparently the new personality trait is (PRIVACY)
According to recent reports, the next-gen version of Siri could include auto-deleting chat history, basically letting your AI convos disappear after a certain time - kind of like messages in secret mode, but Apple-style.
The rumored update would arrive with iOS 27 and transform Siri into something way more chatbot-like, closer to modern AI assistants people actually want to talk to. Think:
Ongoing conversations
Text plus voice chat
File uploads
Actual context memory
Less "Sorry, I didn't get that" energy
And honestly? About time.
The interesting part is Apple leaning HARD into privacy as its AI strategy. While other companies train models using massive conversation datasets, Apple reportedly wants users to control how long chats are stored - 30 days, 1 year, or forever.
Very "your data, your rules."
Also kinda ironic that the smarter Siri may still rely partly on Google Gemini tech behind the scenes. Apple is basically saying:
"Yes we want powerful AI... but we also want it wrapped in a privacy blanket"
Will it finally make Siri useful again?
We'll probably find out during WWDC 2026.
Until then, Siri is still fighting for survival against ChatGPT, Gemini, and every AI app that accidentally became your therapist.
